Since joining Gill’s weight management course I have gained more awareness of the relationship between my diet and my stress levels. This was something I knew previously but had turned a blind eye to it. When I completed the initial 10 day cleanse and therefore didn't have alcohol or caffeine drinks for 10 days I felt so much more energised and motivated and people commented I looked less tired. The other main thing I cut out during the 10 days was bread, something I have previously adored and craved. I lost almost 3kg on the Herbal cleanse, without feeling hungry once.
Since completing the cleanse and continuing on the 6 week course I have experienced two stressful and difficult weeks, one work related and one home related. However I haven't once reached for the red wine bottle to help me through them, whereas previously I would have done this. I do still drink the odd glass of red wine but am finding I enjoy it less than previously and am not that bothered if I have it or not.
Food wise I am continuing to avoid bread most of the time and not craving it in the same way I previously did. My habit on arrival home from work used to be to cut a big chunk of bread and eat it standing up in the kitchen without even taking my coat off!! I don't crave bread in the same way anymore and have found that I am able to take it or leave it, rather than it being a must have.
I am paying much more attention to ingredient lists when shopping and have reduced my portion size significantly.
Going forward I am hoping to build on the initial weight loss and harness my increased energy levels into improving the quality of my exercise. I want to thank Gill for showing me how to finally control my weight and my eating habits without starving or dieting!!
