By the age of 16 years old, I knew I wanted to teach. I wasn’t sure what but to be honest it didn’t really matter because it was more about enhancing someone else’s life than what I actually taught. Imparting that knowledge to empower others really excited me.
Conversely, my school’s Careers Advisor advised me against becoming a teacher. There in a flash went my sole purpose in life during a 15 minute chat.
I spent the next 7 years wandering aimlessly through life hopelessly clutching at new purposes and aching to fill my hollow void. It’s only in hindsight that I can see the emptiness beaming right through me.
Fast forward three decades and like a thrown boomerang my purpose has come ricocheting faithfully back to me. Without a doubt, I am living my true purpose right now – to serve those around me without judgement and with compassion.
I do this by teaching yoga and Pilates together with sharing my knowledge of health and well-being as an Expert in my field. I was nominated and shortlisted for APCTC Health and Well Being Coach of the Year 2015. I won the award and with it I intend to do the industry proud by continuing to support my clients gracefully.
Whilst searching for my calling I trained in various health, fitness and well-being professions: Group Exercise Instructor; Personal Trainer; Diet and Nutrition Diploma, Mindfulness training as well as a professional dancer, a qualified sports masseur, a Pilates teacher and 4 yoga qualifications including pregnancy yoga. As a result I now have a strong foundation from which to serve from.
